A Jamie Hull Greenwood debut micro documentary, narrated by British landscape artist Greg Ramsden, examining his motivations and relationship to his personal process creating award winning paintings. The film discusses the emotive and practical reasoning behind how Ramsden's art is created and the personal obstacles faced by the artist as well as creative people in general. The film seeks to portray an honest account of the fears, thoughts, history and challenges faced by Ramsden, but also in a wider sense, it can be related to by anyone who commits to what they love. The film stands as an attempt to present a contrast to the false, often forced self promotion needed by creatives to sell and market their work.

Greg Ramsden achieved a first class honours degree in Painting & Printmaking from Sheffield University under the tuition of the realist painter George Shaw, a Turner Prize finalist in 2011.

Following Ramsden’s time in higher education he became an artist assistant to the international sculptor Heather Jansch. After which his painting career was jump started with him winning the Lionel Aggett Award at the South West Academy of Art in 2009.

Ramsden continues to build on previous achievements including having work hung in the royal academy amongst other prestigious venues and he was elected a director of the south west academy of art in 2015. He is known for his incredible landscape and seascape paintings that often have a huge emotive effect on observers and art lovers alike.

Narrated by Greg Ramsden after a series of interviews with Hull Greenwood in his South West studio for HGL in April 2022.
